Vaibhav Suryavanshi is from Samastipur, Bihar. He was born September 27, 2011. His father Sanjiv Kumar Suryavanshi is a cricket coach who began training Vaibhav at age 4. He has been playing district-level cricket since age 8 and made his Bihar Under-16 debut at 11. His batting is characterized by an extremely compact base, exceptional hand-eye coordination, and a fearless approach to pace bowling that belies his age.

The BCCI has a development pathway planned for Suryavanshi that includes exposure to India A tours in 2027. National selectors have him on a monitored list. Former India captain Sourav Ganguly called his IPL debut "one of the most exciting things I have seen in 30 years of cricket."
