Scam 2026 is Hansal Mehta's follow-up to his 2020 masterpiece Scam 1992 which depicted Harshad Mehta's securities fraud. The new series is based on the ₹12,000 crore cryptocurrency and startup scam that unravelled between 2021 and 2024, involving a Bangalore-based entrepreneur who built a valuation of over ₹10,000 crore through a combination of real technology, fabricated revenue numbers, regulatory capture and media manipulation. The real case is still in trial — the show has changed names and some facts for legal reasons.

Pratik Gandhi plays the central character — a first-generation entrepreneur from a small town who has genuine brilliance but allows ambition to corrupt his judgment progressively. The trailer shows his arc from a passionate founder to a man who treats investor money as personal capital. Patralekha Paul plays his wife who slowly discovers the truth. The ED, SEBI and a young journalist (played by a debutant actress) close in simultaneously from different angles.
